Scale Technician, CDL Preferred in Louisville, KY & Evansville, IN

Essential Functions

  • Must be able to follow detailed procedures with limited supervision.
  • Experience with electronic theory, physical/dimensional principles, and calibration methodologies is preferred
  • Must be able to perform general math and algebra functions
  • Must possess good written and oral communication skills, technical writing ability preferred
  • Must be able to troubleshoot, align and optimize precision equipment.
  • Must possess a strong attention to details
  • Must be dependable and have a solid work ethic
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and/or ISO 17025 preferred
  • Knowledge of measurement uncertainty is beneficial.
  • Basic welding or torch skills preferred.
  • Ability to work in an on-call rotation and overtime as needed.



  • Must have a working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of programs and have ability to understand various software programs.
  • Must be self-motivated, work as a team player, and follow detailed written procedures.
  • A valid state issued driver’s license; a CDL Class B or the ability to obtain a CDL preferred
  • Knowledge of heavy capacity scales is beneficial
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and consent to a random drug testing program.
  • Must have the ability to safely operate hand tools
  • Must have the ability to safely drive a fork truck
  • Strong interpersonal skills, such as communicating well with customers, management, as well as other areas of the organization, are essential for this position. 
  • This position requires an individual who is team oriented and proactive in resolving issues.
  • Must have the ability to arrive at a work location on-time
  • Must possess a sense of integrity that comes with a strong work ethic.
  • Must provide levels from a Work Keys Assessment
    • Applied Math – 5
    • Graphic Literacy – 3
    • Workplace Observation - 3

 Physical Requirements

  • Ability to frequently move test equipment, up to 50 pounds repeatedly, to carts for transport up to 1,150 pounds to other areas of the facility.
  • Occasionally lift equipment greater than 50 pounds with assistance.
  • Ability to occasionally position self by climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling to complete calibration or other work.
  • Must be able to operate a computer and read procedures from a monitor or from printouts.
  • Ability to stand, stoop, or sit for long periods as testing requires.
  • Capability to move about inside a lab, office, and various manufacturing environments.
  • Able to work in various weather conditions. (heat, cold, rain…) 
Job Responsibilities:
• Install, and calibrate measurement and test equipment in order to ensure compliance with defined ISO standards and /or customer specifications. • Perform maintenance for and support troubleshooting and repair of precision weighing equipment. • Provide precision calibration, according to detailed procedures, specifications, blueprints, drawings, and other technical requirements. • Collect, compile, measure, summarize, and record data gathered during calibrations to prepare calibration reports and certificates. • Identify out-of-tolerance conditions and perform corrective action via adjustments, component replacement, correction factors, etc. per Company specific procedures and processes. • Understand measurement errors and contributing factors that may result in inaccurate measurements. • Communicate with other technicians, managers, internal and external customers and vendors.
Education and Experience Required:
High School diploma or equivalent; military experience or secondary education in a technical discipline in preferred.
