Torque Calibration Services
Many people believe that new torque equipment comes calibrated as part of the purchase. Unfortunately, this is untrue. Many manufacturers do provide what’s called a “Certificate of Accuracy.” What this means is that your equipment passed an internal verification test compared to their standard, but was not calibrated by an accredited or traceable source. If you do request calibration from a manufacturer, that service is often outsourced to a third party who adds additional cost and time to your purchase. In some cases, the cost for calibration can be just as much as the equipment itself.
